Purpose Driven Priorities

I recently read The ONE Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. The book is a quick read, with many notable insights. The core of the book asks readers to identify what’s the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?

Interesting. And very much aligned to my themes of focus and intent. There are, however, many other ideas in the book that I find compelling, most importantly the idea that

Purpose drives our Priorities, which impact our Productivity and – ultimately – Profits.

How many of us take the time to get clear – REALLY clear – on our purpose? The value we can uniquely bring to the world? That’s heady stuff – and worth the time to explore.

If you’re looking for an easy read that’ll remind you of the importance of goal-setting, focus and living with intent, check out The ONE Thing. There are also great resources available at www.the1thing.com.

P.S. The book is also clear about the myth of the effectiveness of multi-tasking…but that’s a subject for another day.
